Frankenstein Pretzel Bites

If you love the combo of salty and sweet and ALSO love fun Halloween inspired treats. Then this is the Halloween inspired treat for you! But if you don’t like any of those things mentioned above and actually hate all three. Then please accept my sincerest apologies and I’ll try to do better in the future!

These came about after I made some frozen yogurt pumpkin bites and even though these aren’t frozen yogurt  per say they are made in the same method I make most frozen yogurt bites. Which makes them similar enough where my brain made the connection between the two.

If you could see into my head you would catch a glimpse of the never ending stream of insane thoughts circling and running through the gray folds of my mind, always trying to turn food into some sort of “other” edible treat, it’s maddening. But then I come up with something like this and all that noise and racing thoughts is worth it 🙂

Frankenstein Pretzel Bites….

My kids loved me extra today when I gave these to them, because if you must know I pretty much fail in every other area of Motherhood with the exception of making fun and interesting food creations!! You can’t win them all right ( kidding, kidding!!)

Anyhow, let’s get on with it and I’ll show you how I made them.

This is what you will need!

  • Square Pretzels
  • Green Candy Melts
  • Dark Chocolate candy melts
  • Wax paper
  • Cookie sheet
  • Plastic baggies or decorating bags.
Line a cookie tray of a large cutting board with wax paper and lay out your pretzels. You don’t have to be neat when you do this!

Melt your green candy melts and put them in a plastic baggie or decorating bag and snips a small part of the corner off. You don’t want the hole too big or the candy melts will flow out to quickly. Outline each pretzel.

Now fill it in. You can then put them in the fridge to set up fast or just put them to the side for a minute. Melt your dark chocolate candy melts.

Add them to a baggie or a decorating bag and snip a small part of the corner off as well. Begin by adding his hair.

His eyes and mouth.

And don’t forget those oh so stylish bolts on his neck!!

And now pipe a blob of green in the middle of his face for his nose!!

Let them set for a  few minutes and then snack away!!

Hope you enjoy these as much as my kids did!!
