The BEST Brownies ever….and my broken laptop.

I had a wonderful post lined up for this week, all full of fun and craftiness.

But then my laptop with ALL my information, files, templates, pictures and……… well you get the idea, was broken.

No, not by me, but by this little mischief maker below.

She may look all sorts of cute and innocent, but believe you me there is lots of trouble brewing in those big blues of hers.

She’s is only two, and I know she didn’t mean to intentionally break Mommy’s laptop.(Which by the way, is my second one this year, since I clumsily spilled a cup of coffee on my last one.)

Accidents happen, but what a pain in the you know what.

Fast forward to this week and to keep my bases covered with posting, I thought I would share a super easy brownie recipe I had found. Not only are they homemade and super easy to make…they are hands down the best brownies I have ever eaten in my ENTIRE life.

I readily admit that although I have eaten my fair share of brownies, for the most part they have never been my thing. I found them either to fudgy, too heavy, too dry, too cakey. And for the most part they always felt like a sack of broken bricks in my stomach afterwards.
Not the way I want to feel after I indulge in something…especially something of the chocolate persuasion.
But then I found this recipe and it changed everything.
It’s a Hershey’s recipe, so I can’t take the credit for creating them. But they will be the base for all of the other yummy goodies that sprout from them…..and the ideas are brewing 🙂
Seriously though, try them and you will never have a reason to buy another brownie or make another mix EVER!!!!
This is what you will need:
  • 1/2 cup (1 Stick) butter or margarine melted (I USED BUTTER)
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1/3 Cup HERSHEY’S Cocoa
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
  • Optional 1/2 cup nuts

To Prepare…..

  • Heat oven to 350 F. Grease a 9-inch baking pan
  • Stir together melted butter, sugar and vanilla in a bowl.
  • Add eggs; beat well with spoon.
  • Stir together flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
  • Gradually add to mixture, beating until well blended.
  • Stir in nuts, if desired.
  • Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.
  • Bake 20-25 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the pan.
  • Cool Completely.
  • Cut into squares
  • Prepare to have your life changed!
Since I packed away most of my baking stuff, I used a 8 inch round and they came out fine. But I did bake them for about 30 minutes. They don’t bake all puffy and stay a bit low. But they are very forgiving so a few extra minutes wont ruin them, if you like them baked well.
You can view the entire recipe from HERSHEY’S {{HERE}} they also include a quick recipe for a frosting if your interested. My family and I ate them plain and found them perfect that way, but I’m sure they would taste wonderful with the frosting as well.
