Damn Delicious Dark Chocolate Butter Cream Frosting

I like frosting. It’s actually one of my most favorite parts of any cake or cupcake. It is also a make t or break it type of deal thing when it comes to any cake based dessert for me. I like smooth, creamy, sweet, flavorful frosting and I like butter…end of story.

I never use shortening in my frosting, I just never have been a fan. I know some say you can’t taste it, but I can and like I mentioned. I like butter…end of story.

If you have tried any of my other frosting’s like my Fanabuolus Vanilla Frosting or even my Creamy Dreamy Peanut Butter Frosting, then you know I don’t mess around with my frosting and that they are as good as I proclaim. I’m a big fan of if I’m gonna eat this and it’s filled with a tremendous amount of calories and fat in which I will have to work out for hours to make up the calorie deficit.

It better be damn well be worth it every over indulgent bite or lick!

Any ways let’s talk chocolate as in dark chocolate as in dark chocolate butter cream frosting. Although I bet I had most of you at chocolate.

I like to add in a few extra elements to my frosting, which is why I’m, pretty sure they taste awesome and are so creamy and smooth. So let’s stop with all this chit chat and get on to the recipe.
This is what you will need.
1 Cup of butter softened
2 oz Cream cheese softened
1/4 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
1/4 Cup Cocoa Powder (dark if possible)
3.5 oz Quality Dark chocolate (60% or higher)  melted.

1 lb Powdered Sugar (Approx. 4 cups)
1-2 Tbsp Heavy cream, 1/2 & 1/2 or milk ( whatever you have)

In a large bowl combine butter, cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk and vanilla until creamy and smooth. Add in the cocoa powder and mix well. Add in the melted chocolate until mixed well. Add in the powdered sugar 1/2 a cup at at time until the consistency is reached.

Now butter cream is extremely difficult to mess up. If it’s too dry add in some liquid, which would be the heavy cream, 1/2 & 1/2 or milk. If it seems to loose add in more powdered sugar.
EASY!
Now the addition of the melted chocolate allows this to set up a nice smooth layer on a cake or a billowy pile of chocolate deliciousness on top of a cupcake.
Or you could just eat it straight from the bowl….trust me I won’t judge.
Hope you enjoy!!
